Just returned from the “special Bluegrass Party Jam” at Isaac Newton’s restaurant from 1:00 to 2:30 which was advertized in the Bucks County Courier Times and this website. My friend and I traveled one hour to this venue and were the only ones there. Not even a member of the Bucks County Folk Music Society who, alledgedly, sponsered this was in attendance. Congratulations to all responsible parties!

We had these boys in our showcase stage last March. They put on a really good and energetic show for us and we have them scheduled for the 2011 Wilmington Winter Bluegrass Festival.

Thank you for that thoughtful comment Don. I like to think that we are nothing if we don’t know from whence we come. I would love to see in this blog space a column that addresses our history and the approach that you suggest would be the perfect way to do that.
There are at least fifty albums in my modest collection that I really like but would like to see placed in some historical perspective but not only that. Who’s picking and where else did those players play. Vassar Clements played with a bunch of different bands and I’m sure that if someone pulled those cuts together it would make a great album on it’s own.
Additionally many of the early albums simply did not credit all the players, sometimes hardly anything was said.
I, myself would read your column with interest
What does anyone else think?
